Académie des Sports du Nord-Ouest

Overview

The Académie des Sports du Nord-Ouest (ASNO) is a privately run youth football academy based in Port-de-Paix, in Haiti's Northwest department. Founded on 15 August 2023 and officially registered with the Haitian Football Federation, the academy has formal statutes, internal regulations, and a dedicated bank account. Founded and run by people from the Northwest region, ASNO operates out of the Saint Joseph Congreganist School and serves boys and girls aged 8 to 20.

Mission & Vision

ASNO's mission is to develop football in the Northwest department through education, discipline, and fair play, using the sport as a tool to keep young people away from alcohol, drugs, juvenile delinquency, and the influence of armed gangs. Beyond on-pitch development, the academy delivers a holistic education programme covering languages (French, English, Spanish), communication, civic and moral education, and physical education. The long-term vision is to become a reference club in Haiti for player development, with structured pathways for promising players to be transferred to other clubs and to compete in regional and departmental tournaments.

What They Have

• A registered, structured organisation led by President Marc-Simon NOEL, Vice President Sonel PIERRE, Secretary Lénine LORDEUS, and a wider 12-person committee • A full coaching staff covering U9, U11, U13, U15, U17, and U20, plus Technical Director Jean Hervé SAINTIL, team doctors, a nurse, a masseur, and legal counsel • Roughly 35 to 50 players per age category across boys' and girls' programmes • Training across two venues, Parc Cappois and Parc CNDL, with football sessions Wednesday to Saturday and educational sessions on Sundays • Existing equipment: 50 footballs, 6 kit sets, 100 cones, 50 bibs, 24 markers, 12 hurdles, 3 scales

What They Need

• Full match and training equipment (kits, footballs, bibs, cones, hurdles, mannequins, agility poles, goal nets) • Coach development and formal training programmes • Educational and scholastic support, plus a hot meal programme for players • Transport (a team bus) and funding for a permanent training site • Long-term partnership and full integration into the FOFPI network
